The installation process itself isn’t very loud. However, if you are having old window film removed, it maybe a little loud during the removal process. Our installers work very efficiently and are mindful of the noise and try to get the window film off as quickly as possible. Nope! Our installers use drop cloths to protect your floors, walls and furniture from the soap and water solution we use during the installation process. We clean up all trash we generate from the installation and leave your space looking exactly how we found it. Yes, there are a few different window films that will adhere to plexiglass. It is important to note that most will not as they were made for standard glass. If you have plexiglass, speak with our sales team to make sure you get a window film that is appropriate for your project! 

The drying process can sometimes take up to 60 days. If your newly installed window film shows evidence of water bubbles, don't panic, that is very normal and actually part of the drying process. The moisture gets trapped under the film and will evaporate as the film cures to the window over the drying period time. It is important to not touch of press on these bubbles as it will prolong the drying process and damage the film. Window film prices vary based on manufacturer, tier of tint and the type of film that is being installed. Pricing is generally based on the square footage of glass. When it comes to warranties on solar film, each manufacturer is different. They do however have similar warranties. Warranties also differ based on the type of film that is being installed. For solar films, most commercial interior installations have a 10-15 year limited warranty. Most exterior installations have a 5-7 year limited warranty. It is very common for the newly installed solar film to show evidence of water bubbles as it is part of the drying process. Don’t be alarmed, this is simply residual moisture trapped under the film that evaporates as the film cures to this window over the drying period mentioned below. It can sometimes take up to 60 days for all the moisture to evaporate. It is important to not touch or press on these bubbles as it will prolong the drying process and damage the film. All types of window film whether it’s solar film, security window film, anti graffiti film, decorative window film, window graphics and exterior window film are removable. Window film can be removed but isn’t easily removable in the sense that you need to worry about it falling off over time. There are many different shades of solar film to choose from that will dictate the performance of the film. All window film manufacturers make products that work the same but have different hues of color. Some solar films can be more brown, gray, blue, or green in color and all reject heat differently. All solar film will reduce heat, but different window films reduce different amounts of heat. Solar film can reduce up to 63% of the heat coming through your windows. Generally, the darker shade of window tint you choose to have installed, the more heat the window film will block. However, ceramic window tint contains no metal or dye, and still can reject up to 63% of heat. You can get daytime privacy with solar window film but the current window tint products that are available do not allow for night time privacy if the lights are on. You can use a decorative window film such as a frosted window film to achieve night time privacy, however, you will not be able to see in or out of that window during the day or night. Depending on the solar film you go with, it could darken a room. For example, there are some dual reflective films that can darken a room if applied. If you don’t want your room darkened and you want to keep the aesthetics the same, you can install ceramic window tint. Ceramic window tint contains no metal or dye and won't change the aesthetics of your space while still providing the same benefits as other solar films.

Solar film generally lasts several years without fading. The location of the window film does play a factor. If you are in sunny locations like San Diego or Los Angeles, the window film might fade quicker than if you are in San Francisco or Seattle. The direction of the windows could also play a factor.
